A revival of the Drama Desk Award-winning 1996 musical Howard Crabtree's When Pigs Fly is set to enjoy a second off-Broadway outing this Fall. Burgeoning with razor-sharp wit and dazzling costumes, the original was penned by the late costume-designer-cum-playwright Crabtree and enjoyed a successful two year stint at the Douglas Fairbanks Theatre. Universally adored designer Bob Mackie will re-create the costumes for this all-singing, all-dancing, all-sequined affair.
Satirising and skewing the political agenda and gay culture of the 90s, the outlandish production is a musical within a musical that follows protagonist Howard as he attempts to overcome a myriad obstacles, including the mutiny of his cast, to put on the most lavish musical to ever grace the stage.
Opening night: 6 October 2017
