The new play from Neil LabBute, starring Amanda Seyfried
Neil LaBute is nothing if not prolific. The acclaimed playwright is following up 2014's The Money Shot with The Way We Get By, set to receive its world premiere in May at The Second Stage Theatre. The play will mark the New York stage debut of Amanda Seyfried, who has previously stunned in the big screen adaptations of Les Miserables and Mamma Mia.. Starring alongside her in the other lead role is Tony nominee Thomas Sadoski, who has previously starred in LaBute's 'reasons to be pretty' and is a series regular on HBO's The Newsroom.
The Way We Get By follows the aftermath of a one night stand between two guests at a wedding. Long considered the 'enfant terrible' of American theatre, Labute's previous works include Fat Pig and In the Company of Men, which he himself later adapted into a movie starring Aaron Eckhart.
