An all-star cast leads Annie Baker's world premiere
Josh Charles' fans rejoice, for everybody's favorite, tragic lawyer from The Good Wife makes a welcome return to the stage, in a world premiere play by Annie Baker. Joined by a roster of stars from both screen and stage included Will Patton, Phillip James Brannon, Josh Hamilton, Emily Cass McDonnell and more, the production is helmed by Lila Neugebauer, fresh from directing the successful Everybody by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins.
Having won the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for The Flick, Annie Baker's star is very much on the rise among the off-Broadway set. The Flick was Baker's expertly understated comedy, which painted a subtle portrait of three 20 -somethings meandering their way through a boring existence in a broken-down old movie palace. The Antipodes is her second work for Signature Theatre following her 2013 Obie Award-winning play John, and forms part of her residency at the prestigious off-Broadway venue.
Described as a play about people telling stories, telling stories, The Antipodes is expected to follow Baker's trademark understated style, and a surefire draw with all the big names attached to star in it.
