The Guardian
The legendary Vakhtangov State Academic Theatre of Russia present their Alexander Pushkin's timeless novel, Eugene Onegin.
Not to be confused with the frequent operatic performances of the tale, this particular event is a theatrical adaptation by the world-renowned director Rimas Tuminas. The production encompasses a cast of 45 as well as brilliant set and costume design, and incorporates Russian and French folk songs into the narrative.
Performed in Russian with English subtitles, it will be a unique theatrical event for those with an interest in Russian theatre and folklore alike.
The Vakhtangov State Academic Theatre of Russia was founded in 1920 by Yevgeny Vakhtangov and was awarded the Crystal Turandot - Russia's highest theatre accolade - for its production of Eugene Onegin.
