A New York Premiere
Manhattan Theatre Club present the New York premiere of the new play from Melissa Ross. Dealing in combustible family relations, Of Good Stock recieves its world premiere in Costa Messa with the South Coast Rep before making it Off-Broadway transfer in June. Twice a recipient of Lecomte du Nouy playwriting awards, Ross' previous works include Thinner Than Water and You Are Here.
This New York staging of Of Good Stock will be directed by the company's Artistic Director Lynne Meadow and sees Hollywood starlet Alicia Silverstone returning to the boards. Of Good Stock replaces Richard Greenberg's The Swing of the Sea in MTC's calendar, after the playwright requested more time to prepare his production.

The three Stockton sisters arrive at the family's holiday home in Cape Cod. Brilliant and successful, the three women are nevertheless carry the scars of difficult relationships with their domineering father. Their reunion triggers emotional upheavals among the three as they try to talk through their father's painful legacy.
