The Greenwich Village Follies

THE GREENWICH VILLAGE FOLLIES

This is a revival of Andrew Frank and Doug Silver's musical revue, which was first seen at Manhattan Theatre Source in 2007.

This is a revival of Andrew Frank and Doug Silver's musical revue, which was first seen at Manhattan Theatre Source in 2007.

The Greenwich Village Follies is high-spirited and deliciously raunchy, offering an overview of the Village's history in the form of an old-school musical revue. From Peter Stuyvesant to the Stonewall Girls, the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire to NYU, this musical revue brings Greenwich Village's storied 400-year history to life. The 18 songs include 'Resist the Grid' (about the 'grid protests' of 1811), 'Splatter Me All Over' (a tribute to painter Jackson Pollock), and 'Smoke Smoke (Hey, Man),' (a comic treatment of drug dealers in Washington Square Park).
