DON'T QUIBBLE OR "HEM AND HAW"! JUST GO AND REVEL IN THIS!

I've seen this uproarious production twice now ... and, taking into account that the show is still in previews, audiences are nevertheless already getting a huge "bang for their buck"! Long periods of sustained laughter punctuate the evening and the very clever dialogue (and equally clever direction by Kathleen Marshall) insure that a key element in a good comedy is ever present: crescendo the laughs! This becomes apparent when a scene moves forward, through stages, from chuckle to laugh to guffaw to applause! The performances are all first-rate with big kudos to Doug Sills and to a pair of "aging with infinite grace" character men, Scott Robertson and Blake Hammond, who damned near steal the show! This skillful cast (with Marshall's helming) insures a fine "audience reaction. I am not one of the lemmings today [my first Broadway show was The Pajame Game, with wonderful (and now mourned) Julie Wilson in 1956] jumping up at the curtain in a standing ovation. I joined this one!
