'Skintight,' nimbly directed by Daniel Aukin is... a bracingly cynical well-made play.

Why See Skintight?

Starring Idina Menzel

Following the success of Significant Other, which Roundabout debuted Off-Broadway in 2015 before it transferred to the main stem, playwright Joshua Harmon returns to the company with a new work. An examination of society's slavish devotion to youth and beauty, Skintight is centered on three generations of one New York family as they struggle in grasping onto the true nature of love.

The cast is led by Tony winner Idina Menzel (Rent, Wicked), making her return to Off-Broadway for the first time in over a decade. Daniel Aukin, who also directed Harmon's Bad Jews, helms this powerful new play from one of American theatre's most vital new voices.

What is Skintight About?

Shocked at the news that her ex-husband has married a much younger woman, Jodi Isaac seeks the support of her fashion designer father, but instead finds him embroiled in his own trist with 20 year old porn star Trey. Add Jodi's own 20 year old son into the mix and you have intriguing concoction of sexual attraction, superficiality and true love.
