Why See Napoli, Brooklyn?

PlaysOff Broadway Shows

New York Premiere

The old world and the new collide in Meghan Kennedy's latest play, which arrives Off-Broadway after holding its world premiere in New Haven. Napoli, Brooklyn focuses on the women of the Muscolino family, Italian Immigrants living in 1960's New York, who must find a way to break away from their domineering father. A passionate tale of sisterhood and forgiveness, Napoli, Brooklyn is a classic story of coming to America and finding your true self.

What Napoli, Brooklyn About?

The three Muscolino daughters long for escape. Trapped inside the four walls of their home in 1960's Brooklyn, which is ruled over by their prone-to-temper father, they want nothing more than to break free of their parents' traditional values. Their lives are thrown into disarray when a plane crashes into the neighbourhood. It's a tragedy which sends shockwaves through the Muscolino household, forcing the three daughters to finally confront their innermost desires.
