An out-of-this-world new musical!
New York's Public Theater presents a new musical adventure that asks us all: how far are we willing to go for the perfect life? Written and performed by Ethan Lipton and his Orchestra, join a married couple as they buy a beat-up old spaceship to embark on the ultimate journey to the final frontier of space. The mission? To escape pollution, noise, politics and ridiculous rent prices. However, as with all adventures, nothing does go completely to plan - and they are faced with a stark and heartbreaking choice.
With music composed by frequent collaborators Vito Dieterle, Eben Levy and Ian Riggs, this bittersweet musical comedy balances off-beat narrative and comic writing that is designed to wrong-foot you at every turn. Directed by Leigh Silverman, having helmed works including No Place to Go, Well and Violet, the intimate confines of Joe's Pub makes this a quirky work of musical comedy-drama that is set to make you think about a distant life!
