Tony award winner - Best Leading Actor in a play

Stage and movie veteran Frank Langella makes a welcome return to Broadway in 2016, in Florian Zeller's Moliere Award-winning play about dementia. Langella plays the eponymous Father of the title in a touching portrait of an 80-year old man and his immediate family - but his memory is failing him. Was he a tap dancer, or an engineer in his youth?

Furthermore, he lives with his adult daughter and her beloved husband - or is it a new lover? Add to this confusion that he permanently lives in his pajamas and he simply cannot locate his watch, the Father is doubting himself and the life he has led so far, and the life he is living now. This play returned to the West End in London this summer and last year earned rave reviews by the British press.

The Father is the winner of France's highest theatrical honor (and Tony Award equivalent) the 2014 Moliere Award for Best Play, and received an unprecedented eight five star reviews from major national newspaper critics when it premiered at Theatre Royal Bath and then at north London's Tricycle Theatre in England. Now directed by Doug Hughes as part of Manhattan Theatre Club's 2015-16 season, it has received 2 Tony Nominations, including Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for Frank Langella, which he won.

emotional Inspiring REALISTIC

Having tissues on hand would definitely be a plus and you may leave the show much the final image of Andre, in need of comfort.

French writer, Florian Zeller, bravely dives into the heartbreaking destruction of a brilliant mind through dementia with his heart wrenching play, The Father. In this brilliant production, we follow Andre, a larger than life former tap dancer living wit
