This latest incarnation of Gerard Alessandrini's long-running revue pokes fun at such Broadway shows as Wicked, Avenue Q, Movin' Out, Assassins, I Am My Own Wife, The Boy From Oz, Dracula and Bombay Dreams.
No show (or star!) is spared at this constantly-changing spoof of the theater scene. Forbidden Broadway: Special Victims Unit is Gerard Alessandrini's latest edition of his scathingly hilarious, deliriously funny love letter to the theater that's been a New York institution for twenty years. Why see just one show when you can laugh at them all? Forbidden Broadway slings arrows at Avenue Q, The Producers, Wicked, Mamma Mia! and Aida in addition to old favorites like The Lion King, Cabaret and Chicago to name just a few. The show also skewers such celebrities as Ethel Merman, Liza Minnelli, Sarah Brightman and several more surprise favorites.
