Keyboardist Brendan Milburn is grumpily coping with year-end blues when a pretty door-to-door saleswoman, Valerie Vigoda (on vocals and violin), offers to sell him full spectrum light bulbs to help chase away Seasonal Affectation Disorder (S.A.D.). Brendan sends her off, but regrets his rude dismissal after reading Hans Christian Andersen's "Little Match Girl." With drummer Gene Lewin, chiming in with various funny incidental characters and a hip, upbeat version of “Little Drummer Boy,” all in this cabaret-style production ends happily.
Combining pop-rock, musical comedy and old-fashioned uplift with a healthy dose of 21st Century skepticism, this festive tale will ignite the holiday spirit and illuminate the coming season with an electrifying, rockin' performance that cannot be matched.
