Every year since 1986, Rumsey Playfield has played host to Summerstage Festival, an annual celebration of many different types of music and performance. From spoken word and modern to the biggest names in pop and rock, Summerstage is committed to serving the residences of New York City with the best of entertainment. Rain or shine, the show goes on!

Ground open 1 hour before performances start on weekdays and 1 and a half hours before on weekends.

Best-known for the storming 2000 debut album Swiss Army Romance, DC, aka Chris Carrabba, followed it up in 2001 with The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most, cementing their fame thanks to heartfelt lyrics and a solid explosion of media coverage fandom. Having re-released Swiss Army Romance in 2014, there are rumblings of a new album on the horizon for the enduring emo punks.
