Two legends of rock 'n' roll come together for one special night at the NYCB Theatre this April.
The original bad boy of the burgeoning rock 'n' roll scene of the 1950s, Jerry Lee Lewis' boogie-woogie style of piano would have a profound effect on the genre. Renowned for his wild live performances, Lewis' defining moment came in 1957 with the release of the frenetic Great Balls of Fire, which sold one million copies within its first 10 days of release. In the 1960s, Lewis reinvented himself as a country music star, and has continue to release new music up to the present day.
Chubby Checker caused a nationwide sensation in 1960 when he appeared on American Bandstand with his rendition of Hank Ballard's The Twist. His later hits included Let's Twist Again and Pony Time.
