Why See Widower's Houses?

PlaysOff Off Broadway

A Delightful debut

The Actors Company Theatre present a brand new production of George Bernard Shaw's first ever play. A witty and acerbic meditation on sex, greed and real estate in the late 19th Century.

Concerning Harry, a young doctor who discovers his future father-in-law's affluence comes from a less than palatable racket, by renting out slum housing at exorbitant prices to the desperate poor. When faced with the facts, and a dirty dowry, Harry must look at his own morals, especially as he's just about to discover the basis of his own income is not exactly ethical...

Scathing and hilarious, Widowers Houses has long been seen as a delightful debut for the lorded playwright and continues to resonate through the ages!
