Claire & Peter's from Perth WA Broadway Experience, Mar 27, 2008
reviewer: Claire Pepper from Perth Western Australia
I had to wait until I was 48 and my partner Peter was 58 to attend a broadway show when we recently visited New York - we were so glad we chose The Phantom of the Opera. I was totally speechless with the breathtaking performance and the endless talent of the artists. I cried for the whole last scene - please pass my congratulations and sincerest thanks to the performers for a fantastic performance that we shall remember all our lives - your theatre was magnificent, the scenery and props were unbelievable and I get goosebumps every time I listen to the music from the Phantom. We will return to Broadway one day I am sure - thank you once again for broadening our lives with your wonderful talents. Encore!

exceptional friendliness, Aug 24, 2008
reviewer: Michael McBarron from Aarhus, Denmark
I recently attended a Wednesday evening performance together with my 2 daughters (23 and 25) and son-in-law while we were on holiday from Denmark. Unfortunatelly, I'd got the dates mixed up and our tickets were for the Monday show. The staff could just have shrugged their shoulders, it was, after all, my fault. Instead they found some dining chairs and managed to squeeze us into fairly good places in a sold-out theatre. I'll be eternally grateful for the understanding and friendliness of the theatre staff in general, and manager in particular, in rescueing our evening and, in great part, our trip to New York. By the way, the show, by unanimous consent, was wonderful.

12 years can change (for the worst), Feb 09, 2009
reviewer: Carl from Pennsylvania
I saw Phantom 12 years ago, and I was actually hooked on theater since. Fast forward 2008 (I know I am late on writing this). I was extremely excited for my fiance to to experience Phantom. It hurt, Alot! The acting was mediocre, the singing was horrid. I cannot however blame all the problems on the actors. It was obvious to me that after seeing the movie (oops!) that they had indeed changed it to fit the movie. The phantom went from a cool, collective temper, to a whiney spazmatic kid who gets picked on in school. I would not recommend this shows to anyone who wants to enjoy their first show.

Who knows maybe I will give it another shot in twelve years.

A triumph of musical theatre, Jul 28, 2011
reviewer: Anonymous from New York, New York
I have seen "The Phantom of the Opera" at the Majestic Theatre
16 times. At this point, I simply cannot attend other, lesser
shows with the knowledge that this is playing. It has spoiled me
in a way no other musical, play, or opera has ever managed to
spoil me before. As I write this review, Hugh Panaro and Sara
Jean Ford lead the company as the title character and Christine
DaaƩ, respectively. Hugh Panaro's voice is sublime; those few
high notes that give some Phantoms pause simply do not stand a
chance against him. Hearing him sing is like being caressed by
an angel. Then you mix Sara in and you feel that you are hearing
the personal choir of God almighty. While some Christines
struggle in their middle and lower ranges, Sara's voice hits each
and every note with a precision I have yet to find in any other
performer. These two performers, combined with an excellent
supporting cast, a haunting score, and Maria Bjornson's
unforgettable scenery and costumes yield an incredible show.
