Delightful, Jun 12, 2007 |
| reviewer: Anonymous from Kent Island, Maryland |
| Going into it I wasn't sure if I would enjoy it all that much since I am bored by the movie. It turned out to actually be really entertaining. The little boy who played Michael (Henry Hodges) was adorable. the costumes and sets were amazing too. It was a wonderful experience. |

| It was ok. To much changed from The Movie. Not as good as Lion King or Wicked or Phantom |

Unexpected depth of story, May 12, 2008 |
| reviewer: Judith Whittinghill from Los Angeles, CA |
| Fun, as always, to be on 42nd Street. The history and glory of the New Amsterdam Theater enthralled. The performance dazzled and enchanted us. What was unexpected was the depth of the story - the compassion for the vulnerable, well-intentioned, hard working father, the elegantly good wife unsure of what role she played in society, and the children aching to be with both of them. The sweetness of the family finding time to just be a family was wonderfully conveyed. I thought I'd have fun at this musical, that I also found tears and moments of great depth was a wondrous surprise. Thanks for your hard work, your enormous talent, for making it seem like opening night - and especially for a spoonful of medicine to weary, overbooked families. |
