| I've seen a lot of plays, but I can happily report that that is the play I most enjoyed (and was most moved by) for a very long time. An outstanding production, a fantastic cast. The first theatre review I've felt motivated to write online. Go. See. It. |

| I saw this play in London and it's a winner. Very funny to begin with, especially in the wordplay between the miners, but then develops into a thought provoking piece on the nature of art and class, set in the context of UK post-war politics. Excellent performances all round from this small cast (which is the same as in London which won awards at the National Theatre). The writer, Lee Hall, also wrote Billy Elliot and is on top form here. Theatre at its absolute best. |
