WHAT'S HOT ON BROADWAY

So much to choose from this Spring season and so many laughs to be had! Despite the doom and gloom at the other end of Manhattan Broadway is full of laughs this season. Nathan Lane and Matthew Broderick are both back on Broadway. Broderick in The Philanthropist and Lane in Waiting For Godot, but they have to compete with God Of Carnage a must for any parent, starring Jeff Daniels and James Gandolfini. For something a liitle more refined try Angela Lansbury in Noel Coward's Blithe Spirit with Christine Ebersole and Rupert Graves, or Tony Award winning David Hyde Pierce in Accent On Youth. And if that isn't enough the smash hit trilogy of classic comedy, The Norman Conquests, by Alan Ayckbourn, comes straight from its sell out run in London.

What happens when two sets of parents meet up to deal with the unruly behaviour of their children. A calm and rational debate between grown ups about the need to teach kids how to behave properly? Or a hysterical night of name calling, tantrums and tears before bedtime? Jeff Daniels, Hope Davis, James Gandolfini and Marcia Gay Harden star in the US premiere of The God of Carnage, a new comedy by French playwright Yasmina Reza.

August: Osage County has been welcomed as "the most exciting new American play Broadway has seen in years". Fresh from a thrilling, sold-out run at Chicago's Tony Award-Winning Steppenwolf Theatre, 'August' exposes the dark side of the Midwestern American family when they reunite foloowing the disappearance of Dad. Winner of 5 Tony awards including best play, August, Osage County is now at the Music Box Theatre.

2009 TONY AWARD WINNERS

At last the waiting is over, and after all the excitement of the most glamorous night on Broadway the winners of the 2009 Tony Awards have been announced. Billy Elliot, The Musical danced away with top theater honors on Sunday, winning 10 Tony Awards.
