HOLIDAY SHOWS IN
NEW YORK
Radio City Christmas Spectacular
Top of any New York experience is a visit
to Radio City Musical Hall to see their Christmas
Spectacular Show with new added scenes and
the amazing Rockettes!
Family Musicals
Come and create a new holiday tradition and celebrate peace, love and the excitement of the holidays with the only fusion of classical Eastern and Western cultures in New York with the Holiday Wonders Show at the Beacon Theater showing 18th - 26th December.
Returning to Broadway by popular demand is the Dr Seusss, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, a musical adaptation of the hit movie that's sure to get everyone in the holiday mood of good cheer!
Arriving on Broadway for its debut this year is Disney's latest adaptation of the classic children's tale of The Little Mermaid on Broadway at the Lunt Fontanne Theater. Join Ariel and all her underwater friends in a magical journey with all your favorite songs brought to life with breathtaking scenes and costumes.
The Little Mermaid is just one of Disney's great musicals on Broadway this Holiday season. Freshly arrived from London is your favorite nanny with her carpet bag of tricks and excitement as Mary Poppins creates a 'supercalifragilisticexpialidoceous' night of entertainment at the classic New Amsterdam Theater.
Another sure bet is the unbeatable musical The Lion King, now the longest running show on Broadway from Disney. Winner of numerous awards, it continues to be as fresh and exciting today as it was on opening night. The opening parade of the animals will have everyone (young and old) breathless with excitement as you embark on the epic journey of young Simba. Our tip - do try and get seats in the Orchestra on either side of the aisles for the very best view.
Cirque du Soleil
This Holiday season Cirque du Soleil bring their special magic to a winter's tale in New York with a new show entitled Wintuk, an enchanting winter tale of a boy's quest to find snow in his city. He interacts with an extraordinary cast of high-energy urban street characters, including acrobats, dancers and talking marionettes. But when the snow doesn't arrive, he embarks on a quest with three companions - a female shaman who's lost in the city, a shy man destined to discover his courage and the shadow of a young girl - to find the snow and bring it back where it belongs.
The adventurers journey to an imaginary Arctic - a world without sunlight - where they encounter the rich culture of the People of the North and extraordinary giant characters made of ice. When at last the sun returns, they fly home on the wings of a giant crane and generate a swirling snowstorm.
The show is playful, musical, bursting with the energy of the city and the broad sweep of nature. A cast of 50 performers weaves thrilling circus arts, breathtaking theatrical effects and memorable songs into a meaningful seasonal story that resonates with the whole family.
Wintuk opens at the Theater at Madison Square Garden on November 6th and will run though until 6th January 2008.
