Now the esteemed host of HBO's Last Week Tonight, Oliver is sharp, uncompromising and always totally catchable as he digests difficult topics (from the death penalty to the Fifa World Cup) with doses of his unique comedy styling. There is nothing tranquil about comedian/actor Chris Tucker. A limber, wiry fellow with a high-pitched voice and a delivery as fast as a mosquito's wing beats, he seems energy incarnate. Tucker first started out on the LA comedy scene in the Nineties, on the Def Comedy Jam circuit before coming to prominence in films such as his debut, Friday and then the Rush Hour trilogy. Nowadays he is back on the stage following an expensive run-in with the IRS, and his humor draws upon this and his early life, switching seamlessly between different personas. More info

With recent appearances in Entourage and his much heralded dramatic turn in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine, the x-rated comic is back in the spotlight after years out of the public eye. More info

Apollo Theater : Closes 24th June 2015

Amateur Night At The Apollo has been a key feature in the local music scene since 1934 when it launched, and has been the stepping stone in the career of many world-class musicians and entertainers, including Lauryn Hill and Stevie Wonder.
